How we select our beans
We select and import only the top 10% of all arabica, specialty-grade beans from more than 35 countries around the world. Our master roaster uses our perfected roasting profiles to carefully roast only small batches of beans at a time. The careful attention to each batch is what allows us to produce a delicious cup of coffee everytime. With an expansive offering of single origin, blends and flavored coffees, our customers – and your customers – can be sure that they will always experience the ultimate cup of coffee.
COFFEE REGIONS:
South America – This region is home to the largest coffee producing countries (Brazil, Colombia, etc.). Very popular in the U.S., these beans have a medium to full body.
Central America – These coffees tend to have a lighter, livelier body than their cousins to the South. These coffees are popular in our blends here at Ferris.
Africa/Middle East –While not as popular as American or Indonesian beans, coffee is grown throughout much of Africa and in the Arabian Peninsula. These coffees are enjoyed by many drinkers who like their unique taste and higher acidity.
Indonesia/Pacific –The islands of the Pacific provide us with an earthy, full bodied coffee with a low acidity. This region is home to the renowned island of Java, which has become synonymous with coffee.
Other – Coffee is grown in other regions around the world, notably Jamaica and Hawaii. These islands produce specialty coffee with flavors unique to their environment. Due to their rarity and cost these beans are often blended with those from other regions.
