  1. 2019 Rwandan Coffees

    This month, two amazing Rwandan coffees will be coming to our shops and online store and we truly cannot wait to share them with you. While they both come from Rwanda, each coffee is unique in it’s flavor and brings with it stories that are special to our team here at Ferris. 

    The first coffee is a fan favorite that we’re bringing back for it’s 3rd year! Rwanda Bushoki came to us when our Director of Coffee, Sam, made a trip to Rwanda in 2016. He cupped an assortment of coffees at the Rwanda Trading Company facility in the town of Kigali, but Bushoki stood out as his favorite coffee on the table.

  2. Our Retail Space Has Moved!

    If you haven't heard the news, now you have- our beloved retail space has moved from 227 Winter Ave to our new HQ on Seward Ave! Lucky for us (and our movers), it was only a four block move. Our new retail space features many of the products you came to know from our old space, with a refreshed style. In addition to the classics, we're also featuring self-serve bulk bins and a grind your own nut butter station (Endless peanut butter? SIGN US UP). Freshly brewed coffee and a simple espresso menu are available for shoppers, too!

  3. U.S. Coffee Championship Preliminaries (Info and Sign-Up!)

    Hey y'all, we're Ferris. We’re a Grand Rapids-based company passionate about roasting and serving specialty coffee. Our Director of Coffee, a licensed Q Grader, and team regularly travel to coffee-growing countries in order to get to know our suppliers and build lasting relationships with them. We’re committed to the sustainability of the coffee industry and believe that sourcing directly gives our team a deeper understanding of each unique farm and ultimately provides our customers with the best product.

  4. Make Your Own Nut Butter!

    Nut butter has grown in popularity over the past few years. They’re healthy, delicious, and… EASY TO MAKE!? Yeah, that’s right. We said it. Making your own nut butter at home is really simple!

    Store-bought butter can be convenient, sure, but we’re reaching for our homemade versions for a few reasons:

    Cost-effective No added sugar, salt, or chemicalsUse what you already have at home Create your own fun blends Choose how much/how little you want to make

    So fire up your food processor and try out some of our favorite nut butter recipes!

  5. National Pecan Day: No-Bake Pecan Pie Bites

    Tomorrow is National Pecan Day and we couldn't think of any better way to celebrate than with a healthy, protein-packed pecan recipe! We love incorporating pecans into our recipes because they're packed with essential vitamins and minerals (19 to be exact), like fiber and calcium. Pecans are also high in healthy fats, which keep you feeling full and satisfied throughout the day. Is there anything this nut can't do?!

    So we thought we’d honor this delicious nut by putting a healthy spin on a classic comfort food: pecan pie. These sweet little things come together quickly, ACTUALLY taste like pecan pie, and are vegan, raw, and gluten free!

    Ingredients

    1 ½ cup raw pecans ½ cup raw almonds 10 medjool dates 2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla extract Dash of sea salt Pecan halves to top!
