In the beautiful, lush small mountain town in Costa Rica, lies a mill we stumbled upon when on a coffee sourcing trip. The farm is owned and operated by Omar Calderón, his wife, and his four daughters, who have been growing coffee and processing it in their own micro mills for the last 20 years. The mill is well-known for producing amazing honeyed coffees. This specific coffee, Granitos de Altura, is a white-honey processed coffee, drying as a whole cherry on African beds in the sun and producing complex flavors. The Calderon family has previously won the Cup of Excellence (COE) in Costa Rica and are in the Top 20 winning farms from Costa Rica year after year.
