The board game revolution is exploding and Grand Rapids, Michigan is lucky enough to have a locally-owned gaming lounge conveniently located downtown. House Rules Board Game Lounge opened in December 2020 and offers a fun environment for all ages. With hundreds of games to play and purchase, every visit to the Lounge is sure to be a new adventure!

Since 2007, UNIOCAFE has invested in its producer network by providing training, financing and access to coffee buyers. In 2016, UNIOCAFE expanded its programs to focus on empowering youth, promoting gender equity and addressing climate change — and were identified as an ideal group for the Coffee Kids program to team with. Currently, UNIOCAFE provides young producers with best-practices training in coffee cultivation, cupping and coffee quality, as well as processing and preparation for export. At the same time, the youth are learning how to develop strong organizational and business skills.

In Grand Rapids, the local ice cream parlor is a cherished past time. Likely a corner shop that, for decades, has been serving neighborhood kids (and adults) their favorite indulgent treat: ice cream. Over the years some shops renovate, some hold onto the nostalgia, and most expand their menus; accommodating dietary restrictions, serving locally made goods, and looking for the next big thing. For Frosty Boy, Ferris' Nitro Cold Brew was that *new* special item they were looking for.

Ferris Coffee & Nut Co. has made the decision to close two Grand Rapids café locations. Downtown is now closed while West Side will remain open through May 22nd. While these cafés close, Ferris turns their attention to their main location on Seward Ave. with plans to expand the retail and café space at their headquarters. While this decision wasn’t one we made lightly or easily, it’s the one we’ve arrived at. Since our move to our main location on Seward Ave. in 2018, our cafés throughout the city have remained as landmarks for our customers to visit and enjoy. These...
