Our sourcing practices are a priority simply because we do depend on the planet’s people and its resources for the success and growth of our company. For these reasons, we've continued to source coffee from San Miguel year after year offering it as a single-origin and also working the product in some of our best selling blends.

Origin Story: el Vergel
The need for el Vergel came about with our recent change to further implementing seasonal purchasing for our yearly coffee lineup. With our focus on bringing coffee at its peak freshness from harvest into the hands of our consumers, el Vergel filled an important gap in our availability. We wanted to fill in the gap with a coffee that not only had certifications but also had a similar mission to empower women in coffee growing countries.

How We Choose Coffee Earlier this year, a team from Ferris was fortunate to travel down to Guatemala to visit our partners at the San Miguel Mill located just outside of Antigua. While there, our certified Q-grader and VP of Coffee Operations, Sam Mirto, along with Education Assistant, Hannah McClure, cupped over 80 different coffees the farm had to offer.
